Well, it’s that time of the year again where football is back, it’s still hotter than hell, and Christmas comes early in Bristol in the form of Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion! Festival weekend is always our favorite weekend of the year (minus the bad chicken on a stick year), especially having the 6th Street stage right outside our front door.

Our staff has seen many amazing artists over the years since our birth in downtown Bristol, and this year seems to have another fantastic lineup. This festival season has the buzz and excitement turned up to 11 with a lineup featuring artists such as Old Crow Medicine Show, Taj Mahal Trio, Railroad Earth, The Felice Brothers, and so many more.

After listening to hours and hours of music from artists playing this year, we’ve decided to compile a staff pick list of must-see artists and a couple of wild cards. If you’re needing some musicians to fill your schedule at this year’s festival, check out our list below. Don’t forget to head over to Spotify and follow our latest playlist full of Bristol Rhythm and Roots 2018 musicians.

We look forward to seeing all of your beautiful faces this weekend! Stay tuned for an overall review of Bristol Rhythm and Roots, including food reviews.

Gold Ship Records is excited to announce the signing and album release of Upper Midwest singer-songwriter, Carrellee!

Carrellee's forthcoming EP, Kingdom, offers a refreshing, understated meditation on love, life, and loss. With a voice reminiscent of Emmylou Harris and Beth Gibbons (Portishead), Carrellee weaves lyrical themes of melancholia and yearning into a gentle, harmony-laden Americana soundscape.  Kingdom was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Jacob Detering at Red Pill Studios in St. Louis, Missouri, where alt-country band Son Volt recorded their latest release (Notes of Blue).

Carrellee’s seven-song EP, Kingdom, will be released for download on iTunes, Spotify, and other digital outlets on July 21st, through Gold Ship Records.

You can find Carrellee below!
