With her languid voice echoing simple, captivating riffs of guitar, Pauline Drand's heart seems to sway between folk ballads and urban sounds. The young Parisian singer has released her double EP on 21 April before making her debut with her first album, which will be available this autumn. The singer raised attention with her low, melodic voice when she started playing in small Parisian venues back in 2012. Her music is like an ode to what she refers to as "a dark sun", a beauty tinged with melancholy. Some might say it's not something you would expect from a young singer today as her songs always oscillate between heaviness and lightness, between worry and naivety. Yet with her poetic flow mixing urban electricity and simple folk, it seems Pauline Drand couldn't be more in touch with her generation.
